Thirdly. Data Collection and Use Policies
A. Data We Collect
Minute collects the following data:
• Provided by users to Minute, such as information entered during account creation
• Generated while using our Services, such as location data, app usage data, and device data
Minute collects the following data:
1. Data provided by users. These include:
• User Profile Information: We collect data from users when they create or update their accounts, which may include a user's name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, profile picture, payment or banking information (including relevant payment verification information), driver's license and other documents issued by government agencies (which may include ID card numbers, date of birth, gender, and photograph). This also includes transportation or insurance information for drivers, emergency contact information, user settings, and evidence of appropriate health or fitness to provide services using Minute applications.
• Criminal background check information (drivers): This includes information sent during the driver application process, such as the driver's ride history or criminal record (as permitted by law), driver's license status, known pseudonyms, previous addresses, and eligibility to work. This information may be collected by an authorized vendor on behalf of Minute.
• Identity verification photos: This includes user photos (e.g., self-portraits) and/or government-issued IDs (e.g., driver's license or passports). These images may be used to verify the user's identity, for example through facial recognition technologies. Please see the section titled "How Minute uses personal data" for more information about how users' photos are used for safety and security purposes, including identity verification.
• Demographic data: We may collect demographic data about users, such as date of birth/age, gender, or occupation, where appropriate for certain services or programs in Minute.
We may also infer demographic data from other data collected from users. For example, we may infer a user's gender based on their first name to enable safety features, or to show personalized ads about third-party products or services. Please see the section titled "How Minute uses personal data" below for more information.
We may also collect demographic data through surveys provided to users.
• User Content: We collect data that users submit when they contact Minute's customer support service (including at Minute registration offices, via telephone conversations or video conferencing tools), when providing ratings or feedback to other users, or when communicating with Minute in any other way. This may include photographs, audio recordings, or video recordings submitted by users in the context of customer support service requests. This also includes metadata related to the method used to communicate with Minute. The contents of photos and recordings submitted by users are subject to all Minute guidelines.
2. Data generated while using our Services. These include:
• Location Data (Driver): We collect precise or approximate location data from the drivers' mobile devices when the Minute app is launched in the device interface (when the app is open and visible on the screen) or in the background of the device (when the app is open and not visible on the screen).
• Location data (passengers). We collect location information from passengers' mobile devices when they allow us to do so via their device settings.
Minute collects this data from the time the trip is requested to the end, and any time the app is running in the device interface (when the app is open and visible on the screen). See the "Choice and Transparency" section below for information on how passengers can enable accurate location data collection.
Passengers and order recipients may use the Minute Apps without enabling the collection of location data from mobile devices. However, this may affect certain features in Minute apps. For example, a passenger who did not allow the collection of exact location data must manually enter the pickup address.
In addition, the exact location data we collect from the driver's device during the ride is linked to the rider's account, even if the rider does not allow the collection of precise location data from their device. This data is used for purposes such as issuing receipts, customer support, monitoring fraudulent activities, insurance coverage, and litigation proceedings.
• Transaction Information: We collect transaction information related to the use of our Services, trip details (such as date and time, pickup and drop off addresses, distance traveled), and payment transaction information (such as amount paid, payment method). We also associate the username with the name of anyone using the promo code provided.
• Usage Data: We collect data about how users interact with our Services. This data includes access dates and times, features of the application or pages viewed, browser type, app crashes and other system activity.
• Device data: We collect data about the affected devices
B. How Minute uses personal data
Minute uses data to provide transportation, delivery, and other services and products in a timely and secure manner. We also use this data:
• To enhance the safety of users and the security of our services
• To provide customer support
• To conduct research and development
• To provide means of communication between users
• Marketing and advertising
• To send non-marketing communications to users
• Regarding legal procedures
We use the data we collect to:
1. Provide our services. Minute uses data to provide, personalize, retain, and improve our services.
This includes using the data to:
• Create/update accounts.
• Activate transportation, delivery, and other services/features, such as:
o Use location data to route to pick up points, calculate estimated time of arrival, and track trip progress.
o Features that include data sharing, such as sharing driver first name and transportation information with passengers to facilitate pickups, user profile and ride details to share estimated arrival time and fare sharing, and user ratings and positive feedback.
o Match available drivers to users requesting services. Users can be matched based on availability, location/proximity to distance, user settings/preferences, and other factors such as the likelihood of a ride being accepted based on their past behaviors or preferences. Please see here for more information on the matching process.
o Features that make it easier for people with disabilities to use our services.
o Features that include account linking, such as linking email to create an itinerary and linking rewards programs to activate partnership benefits.
• Enable the dynamic pricing feature, which allows the price of a trip in Minute to be determined according to factors such as estimated time and distance, expected routes, estimated traffic, and the current number of users requesting or providing services.
• Payment execution.
• Facilitate insurance coverage solutions, transportation, billing, or financing.
• Provide users with updates about trips, create receipts, and inform them of changes to terms, services, or policies.
• Perform processes necessary to maintain our Services, including troubleshooting software and operational issues.
Minute conducts the above activities on the basis that they are necessary to fulfill the terms of our agreements with users, that they are compatible with users, or that they are necessary to fulfill the legitimate interests of Minute and its users.
2. Safety and security. We use data to help maintain the safety and security of our Services and users. These include:
• Verify users' identity and eligibility to provide transportation services, including through forensic background checks, to help prevent dangerous drivers and/or passengers from using our services.
This includes Minute's real-time identity verification feature, which asks drivers to share a selfie before going online to help ensure that the photo of the driver using the app matches their account picture registered with Minute. We may also use this feature for other verification purposes, such as verifying that bank account information has changed or restoring account access.
In addition, we may use facial recognition technology to process photographs in a user's profile, photographs, or other user-provided photographs to prevent identity borrowing or unauthorized driver use of our Services.
We may also use self-portraits to verify that users are wearing masks, helmets or other safety equipment using object verification technology.
• Use data from drivers' devices to detect unsafe driving behaviors such as driving fast or using the brakes and accelerator pedal hard to inform them of safe driving practices.
• Use driver location information, and communications between riders and drivers, to determine the amount of cancellation fees collected or caused by fraudulent activity. For example, if we determine that the driver is delaying the pickup process to motivate them to cancel a trip, the rider will not be charged a cancellation fee, and we will adjust the amount paid to the driver to deduct these charges. To object to this amendment, please contact Minute's customer support team.
• Use device, location, user profile, usage, and other data to prevent, monitor and combat other types of fraudulent activities. This includes identifying accounts or fraudulent uses of our Services, preventing unauthorized drivers from using our Services, verifying users' identities for certain payment methods, and preventing and combating unauthorized access to user accounts. In some cases, when a user is found to be abusing the Minute invitation program or providing fraudulent documents, this behavior may result in the account being automatically suspended, or the account suspended after human review. To dispute this suspension, please contact Minute's customer support team.
• Use user ratings, reported events, and other comments to encourage compliance with the Minute Guidelines, and as justification for suspending accounts of users with low ratings or who have otherwise violated these guidelines. This suspension occurs only after human review and/or the possibility of appealing it. For more information on identifying and using the rating, please see here the Passenger Rating, and here the Driver Rating. To dispute this suspension, please contact Minute's customer support team.
• Use driver data (e.g., location, ratings, gender) and rider data (e.g., ratings, pickup locations, and destination) to anticipate and help avoid matches between users that may increase the risk of conflict among users (for example, because one user has previously given the other a one-star rating).
• Share a user's name, location, phone number, transportation details and other relevant information with third-party companies that support the management and mitigation of personal disputes that may occur between users during rides.
Minute conducts the above activities on the basis that they are necessary to fulfill the terms of our agreements with users, and/or for the legitimate safety and security purposes of Minute, users of our applications and the general public.

This also includes other third-party service ads that are personalized based on users' previously observed or inferred interests and characteristics, which we identify using data such as approximate location, trip details and logs, usage data, demographic data (which may include gender indicative data), and device or user identifiers.
This also includes ads that are personalized based on data about the current trip, including when you order, and the services requested. For example, if a user requests a trip to a store, we may show in-app ads for third-party products that may be available in that store.
